StackOS will integrate features built within the Neo ecosystem as part of its decentralized cloud network. In episode 53 of the Neo News Today podcast, StackOS CEO and chief architect, Vishnu Korde, discussed his company’s product development and positioning. He noted:
The way StackOS is actually positioned is that it allows anyone in the industry, be it blockchain or traditional, to deploy applications. The focus has been centered towards ‘How do you make deployments of applications on StackOS super simple?’ If you have taken a look at our demonstration video, you would know this user experience has been paramount. I mean, people should not be able to even tell this blockchain running behind it.
StackOS is integrating support for multiple blockchains, selecting Neo among the first implementations. Connected with NGD and Neo Global Capital by advisor Fabio Canesin, Neo was an early choice for many reasons.
Korde said, “Neo was something which was a central piece knowing that it has a great community, great access to China, and also developers who are really mindful of how to apply these technologies.”
To date, the StackOS team has been operating a Neo node for more than two years.
More recently, the StackOS team has been collaborating with NGD on designing ways to spin up a quick developer environment. Using StackOS, developers can write applications, bundle them as docker images, then deploy them on TestNet.
StackOS has also been adding support for the Poly Network interoperability protocol. A centerpiece of its ecosystem, the STACK token will interoperate with multiple blockchains by utilizing the Poly Bridge. Users will be able to stake STACK, NEO, and GAS, among other tokens, to access services like memory, CPU, disk space, and bandwidth on the StackOS decentralized cloud.
StackOS is currently in TestNet, though the team tentatively expects to launch its MainNet sometime in summer 2021.
Looking forward, StackOS intends to support NeoFS, for use as a decentralized file storage network where applications can store data. Korde said, “As we grow, the goal is to be able to support several of these Neo projects and implementations.”
