The NEO Council have released their December monthly report. The monthly reports are a round up of all the developments, news and events from within the NEO Council during the previous month.

The December report primarily looks back at the accomplishments of 2017. It has been a big year for NEO, featuring the rebrand from Antshares, Smart Contract 2.0 release, NEO VM release and the completion of NEP-1 to NEP-6. Projects have begun to hold token sales on the NEO platform, and many innovative dApps are in development.

The report also outlines the huge growth in the NEO community. City of Zion has grown to be an invaluable driving force for the NEO ecosystem, and now have over 50 developers with many development tools and applications in progress. A new Chinese community development group called NewEconomyLab was also founded and has new developments in the pipeline such as a hardware wallet and .neo name service. On the social media front, NEO’s collective accounts have amassed over 50,000 subscribers on Reddit, 100,000 followers on Facebook, 300,000 followers on Twitter and 50,000 followers on WeChat.

In addition, NEO has held many events, meet ups and workshops around the world, including locations such as Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, Singapore and Seoul. These included bi-weekly INNOxNEO nights, NEO JOY and smart contract workshops, conferences and community events.

The report also provides a list of events and development progress made throughout December, with some of the highlights being Da Hongfei presenting at the Blockchain World Conference in Bangkok, the NEO Blockchain contest kick-off event in Tokyo with QRC, Okwave and Coinfirm, the Beijing NEO Technology Conference, NEP-5 technical support for exchanges, consensus node server upgrades and the implementation of the giveback program (neo.org/giveback).
