General Updates

Neo co-founder Erik Zhang released a draft roadmap for Neo 4, presenting it as a blockchain platform designed for real-world adoption at scale. The roadmap marks Zhang’s return to Neo after a multi-year break. The plan emphasizes asset tokenization, enterprise finance, cross-chain infrastructure, and new applications spanning payments, trading, and gaming. The roadmap puts strong emphasis on application suitability over base technology. It highlights real-world assets as a priority, with Neo aiming to support tokenization of real estate, bonds, intellectual property, and other tangible assets.

The Neo Council published outcomes from its second Centre Point gathering, held in Singapore, Sep. 27-29. The three-day event was focused on improving council performance, strengthening governance, and reducing barriers for developers and token holders. Centre Point is a community-led initiative with broad participation from council members. Representatives from AxLabs, COZ, Everstake, Flamingo Finance, HashKey, InfStones, Neo Foundation, Neo Global Development, and Neo News Today took part, alongside other ecosystem contributors, including Cassette and Pixudi. The Council shared its outcomes across two announcements: one dedicated to tangible initiatives now underway, and another serving as a charter of commitments expected to be upheld by sitting members.

Neo had a footprint at TOKEN2049 – Singapore, featuring two interactive experiences powered by ITEM Systems. Attendees were able to engage with a non-fungible item-powered waypoint experience, much like the activation in Consensus – Toronto this year, by visiting designated locations throughout the venue. After collecting five taps, users were able to redeem merchandise from the Neo booth. Additionally, COZ delivered an activation centered around BlockSpirits, its Web3 game enabled by NFI technology. The interactive experience allowed attendees to engage in real-time smart contract battles using AeroGlyph cards. In addition to Neo’s booth, a BlockSpirits activation was located at the CoinEx booth, where attendees could battle Arena bosses located in both locations.

Vaulten launched on Neo N3 MainNet, introducing an on-chain puzzle and logic game inspired by escape rooms and cryptographic riddles. Players can engage in weekly and monthly challenges spanning various difficulty levels, with opportunities to win NFT rewards and occasional GAS prizes. To celebrate its launch, Vaulten is running a rewards campaign through Oct. 11. Under the campaign, each puzzle attempt grants 0.025 GAS (up to two attempts per puzzle), and each solved puzzle awards 0.1 GAS. Only wallets with prior transaction history are eligible.

Flamingo Finance hosted its Community Lagoon on Sep. 30, touching upon the second Centre Point community meeting in Singapore, the team’s goal of attracting more users to Neo N3 and lowering fees on the chain, a clear agenda following Centre Point for holding attendees accountable, proposed changes to the GAS rewards for Neo Council voting, Flamingo celebrating its fifth year of operations, the Neo N4 roadmap, and more.

Flamingo Finance noted that Epoch 26 concluded, that the total payout was US $5,754.98, and 55,642 FLM were burned.

nDapp released a weekly N3 GAS check-in, noting that network users claimed approximately 87,860 GAS in the past week, and the on-chain activity burned about 470 GAS.
