Neo and SpoonOS have launched the Scoop AI Hackathon, a competition exploring the intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence.
The event spans multiple cities worldwide and will run for approximately four months, with US $100,000 in prizes for developers. Registration officially opens Oct. 22, 2025, and will remain open through Jan. 31, 2026.
Global initiative
The hackathon will take place in Moscow, Hanoi, Tokyo, Seoul, Silicon Valley, Bangalore, Beijing, and London. In some locations, participants must register online before attending in person, while others will accept on-site registration.
The Moscow Bowl will serve as the first stop, featuring a US $7,000 prize pool. Online sign-ups are open from Oct. 22 through Nov. 20, 2025, followed by an onsite event on Nov. 23, 2025. The one-day schedule will include registration and networking, an opening session on the collaboration between Neo, SpoonOS, and AI agents, panel discussions, team demos, and an evening award ceremony.
Official updates on following schedules and venues will be announced through Neo and SpoonOS communication channels.
Each city stop will feature unique tracks focused on Web3 and AI, providing developers opportunities to experiment with SpoonOS technology. The initiative is aimed at connecting communities across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and is intended to foster collaboration between AI and blockchain innovators.
Developer launchpad
Neo and SpoonOS said the plans for the hackathon are to explore how AI and blockchain can be combined to create transparent and efficient systems for what they describe as a “sentient economy.”
Participants will be encouraged to design new frameworks for decentralized intelligence, trust, and coordination. Event tracks will include include:
- Onchain workflows & autonomous execution
- Social simulations & gaming layers
- Agent-hosting infrastructure & security
- DeFi / NFT / governance intelligence
- BioTech
The Scoop AI event will also host panel discussions and workshops, some of which will be streamed via Twitter Spaces and YouTube, offering insights into emerging AI and Web3 technologies. Developers can revisit recorded sessions to learn how to build on SpoonOS and apply available tools within their projects.
Participant resources
To assist developers, Neo and SpoonOS have released a Scoop AI Hackathon Handbook, which compiles rules, event details, and developer resources.
The handbook includes links to documentation and TestNet information for both Neo N3 and Neo X, along with SDKs for C#, Python, Java, Go, and TypeScript. Participants can also access resources for features such as NeoFS, Neo Name Service, and Oracles, alongside tooling like WalletConnect, Neoline dAPI, and OneGate Wallet for integrating blockchain functionality.
According to the handbook, prizes will be distributed in GAS tokens, converted at the USD exchange rate at the time of transfer.
Developers seeking assistance or team members can visit the Team Formation pages in the handbook or join the SpoonOS Discord server for real-time collaboration and technical support. General inquiries can be directed to hackathon@neo.org.
The organizers intend for Scoop AI to serve as a launchpad for developers and researchers interested in building the next generation of decentralized applications and AI-powered tools.
