NEO have announced that projects that have registered for the first NEO development competition can apply for an invitation to NEO DevCon, which will be held in Silicon Valley at the end of January. The application must be made before December 31st, and promising projects that have made good progress will be offered an opportunity to present at the event.

The first NEO development competition, which is being held in co-operation with Microsoft China, has already received 245 registrations from 40 countries, with 66 entries coming from China and 35 from the USA. There is $490,000 worth of prizes up for grabs, with first prize receiving $150,000. The entries will be judged by NEO founders Da Hongfei and Eric Zhang, City of Zion founder Fabio Canesin, Elastos Founder Rong Chen, and Ontology founder Jun Li.
