NEO will be represented by Vitor and Igor Coehlo of NeoResearch at two events held in Uruguay in September. The first event will be a community meet up on September 3rd, whilst the second will be the Uruguay Blockchain Summit on September 5th.
The community meet up will be held at Brüders Resto-Pub in Montevideo, and is a free event for anyone who is interested in the NEO blockchain. A rough outline of activities are as follows:
- 19:00 – 19:15: Welcome with drinks
- 19:15 – 19:30: A brief note on the Blockchain space in Uruguay: Ignacio and organizers
- 19:30 – 19:45: Why NEO has potential for South America, the connection with Oriental developers: Vitor and Igor
- 19:45 – 21:00: Dinner, integration and free Q&A

The Uruguay Blockchain Summit will be held at the Golf Club of Uruguay from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and will feature “experts in blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies…sharing their experiencies and skills in conferences, panels and keynote presentations.” The organisers claim “It will also be the ideal event for anyone interested in releasing the potential of this new technology for its activity.”
Vitor and Igor will be giving a presentation titled “From the basics to the latest advances in the NEO Blockchain: High performance agreements” in the Antonopoulos Hall at 2:00pm. The outline of the talk is as follows:
“While researchers have been extensively investigating novel consensus paradigms, the real implementation of those mechanisms is limited when real-world systems are the focus. Pseudo-codes are usually the main guidelines for turning that into reality, thus, an arduous and meticulous task is left to programmers. In this talk, Vitor and Igor will comment about the potential that Computational Intelligence and High Performance Computing techniques posses in order to provide real-world Blockchain solutions. The Neo Smart Economy will be the main point of the talk, discussing its aspects, perspectives and introducing its essential tools.”
