Flamingo Finance has introduced a St. Patrick’s Day-themed OrderBook+ trading competition with a total prize pool of 5,000 FUSD. The maker-only contest began on March 14, and will continue until 2:00 p.m. (UTC) on April 14. The top 20 eligible participants will receive FUSD rewards based on their maker trading volume.
The competition is exclusive to trades made via Flamingo’s OrderBook+, a block-based order book protocol that combines AMMs with limit order functionality. OrderBook+ is aimed at providing zero-spread trading through its hybrid architecture, which leverages smart contracts to execute trades once a user’s pre-selected price is met.
Flamingo users can place maker orders by accessing the Limit tab under the Trade section. Participants may use either the automatic method, which deposits only the amount needed for the order and places it in one transaction, or the manual method, which enables users to pre-fund their OrderBook+ account and place trades from their balance. To qualify, users must:
- Place at least five maker orders;
- Accumulate at least US $5,000 in total maker trade volume;
- Claim all filled orders before the competition ends.
Only maker trades, which add liquidity to the on-chain order book by not filling immediately, will contribute to a participant’s competition score. Unclaimed trades will not count toward the final volume tally.
Flamingo has launched a real-time leaderboard for participants to monitor their current rankings throughout the contest.
Prize distribution:
- 1st place: 1,500 FUSD
- 2nd place: 750 FUSD
- 3rd place: 500 FUSD
- 4th place: 350 FUSD
- 5th place: 250 FUSD
- 6th-7th place: 200 FUSD
- 8th-10th place: 150 FUSD
- 11th-12th place: 100 FUSD
- 13th-20th place: 75 FUSD
Flamingo also released a tutorial video to guide users through placing a limit order on OrderBook+:
