TOTHEMOON has launched the Fusion Battle Arenas, where Fused Cryptonaut NFTs can participate in player-versus-player competitions. Registration for the first Fusion Battle Tournament (Arena 128) opened on Friday, July 8, 2022, and the first tournament begins at 4:00 p.m. (UTC) on July 14.

Owners of both a Cryptonaut and a Rune NFT can fuse them in the Fusion Portal to create the new Character NFT. Fused Cryptonauts take on the Phase attribute of the Rune and receive a Battle Position attribute calculated using the Total Cryptonaut Points and Rune Luck amounts. Fusion is a reversible process—users can pay 1 GAS (plus Neo N3 blockchain fees) to fuse or unfuse at any time. Unfusing will return the original Cryptonaut and Rune to the owner’s wallet. However, any Rank and Experience gained will be lost along with the Fused Cryptonaut.

There are five arenas where competition can occur – denoted by the number of Fused Cryptonauts that can participate in that battle. Users must pay a GAS-based entry fee to join an arena, which varies by the area’s capacity. The arena capacities and their GAS fees include Arena 128 (0.75 GAS), Arena 64 (1.5 GAS), Arena 32 (2.5 GAS), Arena 16 (3.5 GAS), and Arena 8 (5 GAS).

Once a Fused Cryptonaut has entered an arena, it will remain until the user removes the NFT Character. The first arena available for battles is Arena 128. Once all 128 positions have been filled, players can register for Arena 64 and each subsequent arena after they’re filled.

Battles will occur weekly on alternating schedules to increase the fairness for participants who live in different time zones. Every four weeks, the cycle will restart, and each battle will commence accordingly:

  • Week 1: Thursday at 4:00 p.m. (UTC)
  • Week 2: Thursday at 6:00 p.m. (UTC)
  • Week 3: Thursday at 4:00 a.m. (UTC)
  • Week 4: Thursday at 6:00 a.m. (UTC)

If an arena’s capacity has not been met, the match will not begin until it is full. If the arena fills up after the times mentioned above, the game will automatically start.

Rewards and Leveling Up

Fusion Battle Arena winners will earn from two baskets of rewards: tournament ranking and fusion level.

Tournament ranking rewards are comprised of GAS and Resource Tokens (TGAS, WATT, LITH, HIST, and MAG). Resource tokens are required for building Moon Infrastructure and will also be associated with specific NFTs for additional benefits.

Fusion level rewards are delegated according to the experience a character amasses. Fusion Battle Arena participants earn experience points each round and level up their NFT characters. These level-ups increase opportunities to win TTM tokens, mint TTM Items, unlock battle advantages and earn Special Fusion Item rewards. The experience necessary to level up and associated rewards can be found in the image below.

Battle Logic

The Fusion Battle Arena will borrow some of the logic used for the previous FTW Rune Arena, which will no longer be hosted on the Forthewin.Network website. FTW Runes are algorithmically-generated NFTs that followed the design of the original FTW logo, each having one of seven elements and a base luck attribute valued between 1 and 10.

Rune NFT phases are based on the five phases/elements of the Chinese Wuxing philosophy. In FTW, the five traditional phases, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water, are extended with the addition of two new phases—“Light” and “Dark.”

To determine the winners, the Fusion Battle Area will implement the Phases from the original FTW Rune NFTs. However, the new logic will add three new factors: Battle Position, Experience, and Effort. The user can’t modify the Battle Position and Phase, but Experience and Effort can be modified to improve the chances of winning.

Winners will be determined by randomization after all the factors and chances have been calculated for the opposing Character NFTs.

Looking forward, the FTW and TTM teams intend to introduce advanced Battle Logic with new advantages, fused items, and more.
