Neo announces the winners of Neo X Grind Hackathon

Neo has announced the results of its Neo X Grind Hackathon, awarding US $70,000 in GAS rewards to 17 projects. The hackathon launched in Sept. 2024 with satellite events hosted by various development communities worldwide. The main event began on Oct. 30, 2024, inviting developers to submit their entries.

Major Prizes

Five projects received major prizes, each earning $10,000 in GAS.

• DeXFun introduced a gamified perpetual decentralized exchange that incorporates mini-games and allows users to create markets.
• FluxLayer developed an omni-chain intent liquidity layer to address fragmented liquidity across networks.
• NeoDashBoard’s NDMEME incentivizes on-chain activity through a memecoin and NFT-based boosts.
• Coiny uses AI-powered fraud detection to enhance wallet security and simplifies multisig wallet setup.
• Kinnect Wallet focuses on socially integrated digital payments, offering a global platform for seamless transactions.

Minor Prizes

Two projects were awarded $5,000 each. Delegator’s Union provides smaller token holders a platform to pool voting power for collective influence. Xora Social combines social media and Web3, allowing users to tokenize personal brands as digital assets.

Community Voter’s Choice

Ten projects were recognized with $1,000 each through the Community Voter’s Choice Awards. Several projects addressed DeFi:

• NEO WHEEL offers a mobile app for simplified investment strategies
• BrownFi AMM provides an oracle-based automated market maker designed to optimize liquidity provision
• NeoPie bridges Neo’s dual-token model with Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility to enhance DeFi functionality
• Peridot Protocol enables fractional ownership of real-world assets and NFTs for DeFi applications.

Other projects addressed cross-chain functionality and token utilities:

• NeoX Cross-Chain Token Bridge facilitates token swaps across blockchains
• GasLock introduces smart contracts for vesting and locking GAS tokens
• NeoFun offers an accessible platform for creating tokens with minimal cost and effort.

Projects also incorporated gaming and interactive elements:

• RADISH-XYZ focuses on prediction markets related to content creator growth and rivalries
• Colony Ants combines decentralized gameplay with a virtual colony-building mechanic
• Blink Your AI Agent adds interactive AI-powered functionality for user engagement.
