NEO have announced a development competition with Microsoft as a co-organiser. There is $490,000 worth in prizes up for grabs, with a first prize pool of $150,000 in fiat. The entries will be judged by NEO founders Da Hongfei and Eric Zhang, City of Zion founder Fabio Canesin, Elastos Founder Rong Chen, and Ontology founder Jun Li. The purpose of the competition is to continue the growth of the development community and further enhance the NEO ecosystem.

The announcement of this competition comes on the back of the City of Zion dApp competition, and a string of development workshops held by NEO in China. The competition is open to all developers, and the conditions of entry are that the dApps run on the NEO blockchain and are executable.

In addition to the $150,000 first prize, two second prizes will be awarded $50,000 in GAS, three third prizes will be awarded $30,000 in GAS, and an additional 10 entrants will receive a $15,000 GAS prize as an ‘award of merit’. Candidates will be assessed by the technical superiority, applied value, comprehensiveness of docs, innovativeness and appeals of their works.

Outstanding projects will be invited to attend NEO DevCon which will be held in Silicon Valley in January 2018.

Registration for the competition begins on November 20th, 2017, and all code must be submitted by March 10th, 2018 to be eligible for prizes. Winners will be announced on March 31st, 2018.
