Neo Global Development (NGD) Shanghai distributed a core development update for December among community groups, intended to help coordinate information and encourage GitHub participation on new features and improvements. The report highlights several major items that have been successfully implemented, such as improvements to NeoVM, and outlines active discussion topics and recent repository reorganization.

Neo released a highlight video of its experience at Blockshow Asia 2019 that recently took place in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Additionally, Blockshow published an article highlighting the eight Neo ecosystem projects that had booths in the NeoZone exhibition area.

NeoLogin participated in NGD’s English Neo Live event. NeoLogin CEO, Thijs Maas, and CTO, Albert Acebrón, attended the AMA, where the duo discussed the reasoning behind the NeoLogin concept, how the wallet acts in a non-custodial manner, future fiat on-ramp portals, the security of the NeoLogin wallet, and more.

Neo announced a Christmas campaign giving the community an opportunity to win limited edition game items in collaboration with ecosystem partners 0xWarriors, Blockchain Cuties, Blocklords, and CardMaker.

Neo and Tomochain held a joint meet up in Hanoi, Vietnam. The day-long event featured two tracts. In the first half of the day, attendees learned about the Neo EcoBoost program, as well as various gaming projects in the Neo ecosystem. The second half of the day focused on smart contract development. MixMarvel and NeoWorld also took part in the event.

NNT Catch Up

NNT published a look back at 2019 for Neo Colorado, a community-established group founded in 2018 to increase local and international exposure for developers and projects within the Neo ecosystem. Activities from the year included meetups, workshops, participation in regional governmental events, and a successful application for a COZ microgrant.

Developer Groups

Neo St. Petersburg Competence Center (NeoSPCCreleased an updated version of neofs-local. The local NeoFS environment, which runs in a docker container, contains all the necessary components to get up and running. This includes 10 storage nodes, four inner ring nodes, the CLI, the HTTP gateway, and now also includes a local version of the Send.NeoFS upload service.

Neo NEXT launched a Telegram channel for its NeoLine mobile and browser extension wallet.

Ecosystem

December 16th, Guardian Circle CEO and co-founder, Mark Jeffrey, participated in an interview on the Silicon Valley Insider podcast.

December 17th, QLC Chain announced upcoming “top-up” support for all mobile providers in Singapore and Indonesia, allowing customers to use QLC tokens to pay for mobile services. The team expects to integrate support for these new networks into its Q-Wallet by the end of December 2019.

December 17th, Narrative announced that it will open-source its codebase and explore the sale of its platform following the early December announcement of its closure.

December 18th, Alphacat released its fortnightly report, which includes the addition of three new dApps to the ACAT Store, bringing the total to 107.

December 20th, Narrative announced an anticipated open source release date of January 10th, 2020. Additionally, the team is delaying the permanent shutdown of the content platform to January 24th, 2020.

December 20th: Nash released video tutorials walking users through the process of creating a Nash account.
