NGD has launched the Neo Time Capsule, a campaign inviting community members to leave messages for the future that will be encrypted and preserved on NeoFS until Neo MainNet’s 20th anniversary on Oct. 17, 2036. Submissions are open now through Oct. 24 at timecapsule.ngd.network.

The initiative is part of a broader series of 10th anniversary celebrations that have included the Neo 3650 AI art campaign, a quiz challenge, a community X Space, and the Neo Hodlers survival game.

How it works

To participate, users visit the campaign website, connect a wallet, and link an X or Discord account. From there, they can submit messages in the form of text, images, or video, with no limit on the number of contributions per user. Submissions are reviewed for inappropriate content before appearing in a public gallery that remains visible throughout the submission period.

Once the Oct. 24 deadline passes, the gallery will go offline and the complete collection of submissions will be prepared for sealing. The entire Time Capsule will then be encrypted and stored on NeoFS, where it will remain locked for 10 years. On Oct. 17, 2036, Neo MainNet’s 20th anniversary, the capsule will be decrypted and reopened for the community to revisit.

Why NeoFS

NeoFS is a decentralized, distributed object storage system developed by Neo SPCC. By distributing data across a network rather than relying on a single centralized provider, NeoFS reduces single points of failure and supports greater resilience over time.

NeoFS was previously used to preserve generative artworks from the Neo 3650 campaign. The Time Capsule applies it as a long-term archival layer, with the encrypted content set to remain sealed for 10 years before reopening.

Prizes

A total of 500 GAS on Neo X is available as rewards. The 10 best submissions, selected jointly by NGD and the NeoPod team, will each receive 20 GAS. The remaining 300 GAS will be distributed randomly among eligible participants. Users can submit as many contributions as they like.

Looking ahead

With the submission window running only from Oct. 17 through Oct. 24, community members have a limited time to contribute. Those interested can visit the campaign website at the link below:
