The QLC Chain team recently released an article about its algorithm used to rank back-end virtual private network (VPN) assets on the WinQ platform. QLC Chain is a decentralized Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) that provides its users with the ability to share and access Wi-Fi and VPN through the WinQ decentralized application (dApp). The WinQ dApp is built and operates on top of the NEO public blockchain.

QLC Chain believes “the quality of the VPN assets is crucial for user adoption.” To verify the quality of VPN nodes, QLC Chain has incorporated a new algorithm to “sort back-end assets.” The algorithm will act in accordance with the following five step process:

  1. A user connects to a VPN asset/node and becomes a participant in the peer-to-peer (P2P) network, which is then broadcasted on the P2P network.
  2. Upon a successful connection, the front-end VPN list of neighboring nodes publicly displays the asset.
  3. Each successful connection then becomes a signal, which allows users to connect to a valid VPN node within a particular timeframe.
  4. The back-end algorithm then presents the best available assets, by filtering out VPN assets that have broken configuration files.
  5. Users and VPN nodes will then able to rate listed assets.

When a user creates a new WinQ wallet on the TestNet, they will be given 100 TestNet QLC tokens. TestNet token rewards are aimed at helping users learn about the dApp and how to use the platform. In addition to free TestNet tokens for new wallets, the QLC Chain team has recently included a new option for users to gain three VPN connections at no cost.

The QLC Chain team seeks to increase both cryptocurrency and non-cryptocurrency user adoption with the new back-end VPN ranking algorithm and three free VPN connections.

At this point in time, WinQ is running on top of the NEO TestNet, however QLC Chain plans to migrate to NEO MainNet by the end of 2018.
