Vital wallet, a Neo N3 wallet built within MetaMask using the Snaps functionality, has been released by a team from Neo Global Development.

Historically, MetaMask could not be used with Neo N3 due to architectural differences between Neo and Ethereum-based networks. This changed with the release of MetaMask Snaps, which allows users to extend their wallet’s functionality through third-party integrations.

Vital is one such extension, handling the generation, security, and signing of transactions with a Neo N3 private key. After installing the Vital Snap into MetaMask, users can access their N3 accounts using the Vital web app, which is controlled via MetaMask. Alternatively, the Vital wallet can be installed as a standalone Chrome extension.

The wallet has undergone an audit by Web3 cybersecurity firm Hacken, which identified two high-, one medium-, and three low-risk issues—all of which have been resolved.
