On April 3rd, 2018, the Trinity Protocol team released their Quarter 1 Progress Report, which highlighted community engagements, new exchange listings, development progress, and more. Notable Q1 progress includes: the announcement of an ERC-20/NEP-5 cross chain converter, public appearances, work on non fungible tokens (NFT), Trinity protocol public testing, and the reveal of the Trinity Wallet App.
Cross chain converter
On March 23rd, 2018, Trinity protocol announced the development of a cross chain converter to allow for users to change NEO-based NEP-5 tokens to Ethereum-based ERC-20 tokens.
Trinity continues aiming towards becoming a universal scaling solution for multiple blockchain platforms. Cross chain conversion across platforms can help increase liquidity of digital assets by providing broader access opportunity to users.
Public presentations
2018 has so far seen Trinity present at 8 events in countries around the world including the USA, Korea, China and Germany. These events include the Blockchain Media Annual Conference, the Global Blockchain Developer Forum, NEO DevCon, Trinity & Zilliqa: “How To Scale a Blockchain” meetup, NEO Shenzhen meetup, Blockonomy Shanghai 2018 and the 2018 Blockchain Leader Summit.
Development of NFT standard
In March, Trinity announced their progress on the development non fungible tokens (NFT) that they intend to propose as a new NEP standard. NFTs are tokens that have their own unique asset identity. Such examples of NFTs include HashPuppies (soon to launch on the NEO blockchain), and CryptoKitties on the Ethereum blockchain.
Trinity Protocol Public Testing
In mid-March, Trinity Protocol released a tutorial to help users install a node and launch the beta version of the Trinity Wallet on the NEO TestNet. The tutorial teaches users how to install a virtual machine, setup a NEO node, and deploy a TNC node.
Trinity Wallet
At NEO DevCon, David Li revealed the beta version of Trinity Wallet and did a live walkthrough. David went through on-chain and off-chain transactions, connecting privately to other users through State Channels, and the how to change the length of time a State Channel can remain open.
