We had previously reported that community member Coranos2 had managed to successfully integrate NEO with the popular hardware wallet, the Ledger Nano S. Yesterday, Coranos2 announced the code for the initial release, along with Neon wallet integration is complete.
After further testing, Coranos2 will declare the app ready for General Availability.
The final product still requires BIP39 support, which is the technology that allows you to recover your wallet from seed words, and app store support.
Ledger is aware of the progress that has been made by Coranos2 on the integration, and the NEO Council is in the process of negotiating with the hardware wallet company regarding how both parties can help each other.
The cost for Ledger to develop altcoin integration in-house is currently €78,000.
