Founder of Neo and CEO of Neo Global Development (NGD), Da Hongfei, will be appearing as a speaker at the IstanBlock 2020 conference during Istanbul Blockchain Week in April.

Istanbul Blockchain Week will take place from April 6th through April 10th, while the IstanBlock 2020 conference will be held at the Hilton Bomonti Hotel on April 9th and 10th.

The event is organized by Erhan Korhaliller, CEO of blockchain PR firm EAK Digital, to raise awareness of Turkish blockchain projects and cryptocurrencies. According to a report conducted by ING, Turkey is a leading adopter of cryptocurrencies, with an additional survey suggesting that 20% of the population have used or owned cryptocurrency.

“We have developed IstanBlock 2020 to be a showcase of the amazing technologies that are changing the world in which we live. This is a chance to put Turkey on the world stage, and to share everything that is so exciting about blockchain.” Korhaliller said.

Notable speakers scheduled to attend alongside Da include: executive chairman of Bitcoin.com, Roger Ver; CEO of Celsius Network, Alex Mashinsky; CEO of Bybit, Ben Zhou; and well-known influencers such as Ran NeuNer, Nicholas Merten, and Ivan On Tech, among others.

Commenting on the state of blockchain in Turkey, Da said:

“Turkey has emerged to become a top blockchain and crypto adopter in both public and private sectors. We will see milestones for the digital lira in 2020 while the Turkish government also presented plans to establish a national blockchain infrastructure. We believe with more policies and infrastructure becoming available, we would definitely see an even greater popularity and adoption of blockchain and crypto in Turkey.”
