On April 2nd, COZ board member Chris Hager will be conducting a NEO workshop at the ANON Blockchain Summit in Vienna, Austria. The conference claims to be a “comprehensive two-day conference focusing on real life applications of blockchain in business, government, banking & finance, healthcare as well as energy.” The workshop is titled “Deep dive into the NEO blockchain” and will follow a similar format to the workshop provided at NEO DevCon 2019.
Students will learn the about the architecture of the NEO blockchain and its features, including the dBFT consensus protocol, block generation, and the NeoVM. Participants can expect to gain an understanding of what information is contained in NEO blocks and what smart contract capabilities are offered by the NeoVM.
The workshop will also discuss NEO development tools, how to run a private network, and which development environments are available to developers.
Further, students will learn how to develop a hello-word contract with Python, deploy it to a private network, and invoke methods.
Participants will need to bring their own laptop, and are encouraged to prepare the following tooling before the workshop begins:
- Install Python 3
- Install Docker
- Pull the neo-privatenet-docker image, found here.
