Neo will have a presence at the upcoming Paris Blockchain Week conference, scheduled for April 9 – 11 at the Le Carrousel du Louvre in France. Neo founder Da Hongfei will deliver a keynote speech titled, “Rethink Layer 1”, while the Neo booth will feature a non-fungible item activation, leveraging the technology of ITEM Systems—a collaborative effort between community development entities COZ and AxLabs.

NFI shirts

The Neo booth will offer visitors a chance to engage in a hands-on creative process, allowing them to personalize an NFI-integrated t-shirt. Participants can express their artistic flair by customizing the shirt with fabric markers, followed by the assignment of on-chain traits such as a photo and artist name to its digital counterpart. Each t-shirt will feature an NFI button fused to the garment, bridging physical and digital realms.

Additionally, each t-shirt is supplied with a preloaded Neo wallet, enabling users to manage their digital assets. Shirts are available in limited numbers, so participants are encouraged to arrive early to reserve their opportunity to partake in the experience. This NFI activation will operate live on the Neo MainNet, showcasing the integration of technology with everyday experiences.

COZ CEO Tyler Adams is currently hosting an AMA on the Neo subreddit, allowing users the opportunity to ask him questions regarding the Paris Blockchain Week event and NFI technology in general. Questions will remain open until the opening day of the conference on April 9.

This event marks Neo’s fifth foray into blockchain-based ‘phygital’ activations at major conferences. Previously, Neo engaged audiences with its chest activation at Consensus in Austin and Token2049 in Singapore in 2022, and the OneBand at the same conferences in 2023. These activations allowed participants to interact with physical objects that interfaced with NFTs, demonstrating the practical applications of blockchain technology.

Paris Blockchain Week

Last year the event attracted over 8,500 participants from 75 countries, with this year’s installment hoping to draw over 10,000. Neo founder Da Hongfei will join a list of speakers that includes names such as Binance CEO Richard Teng, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire, Chair of the European Securities and Markets Authority Verena Ross, and former football star Blaise Matuidi, among others. Additionally, Head of Neo EcoGrowth John Wang will also be a judge on the Demo Day of the hackathon competition.
