The event will be held on the 3rd and 4th of August in Santiago de Chile, and will feature a workshop hosted by Igor Machado Coelho of NEO ResearchThis marks the second occasion that NEO has attended the Blockchain Summit Latam (BSL).

The BSL is well regarded as an opportunity to interact and connect with other developers. It aims to provide individuals with a chance to learn, form teams and accelerate development of their own blockchain solutions. The hackathon will be held at the Startup Chile headquarters in Santiago.

The BSL hackathon will have various prizes available for the top three projects. All event attendees will have free rein to program on different platforms such as the NEO blockchain, Ethereum or HyperLedger, in addition to cloud computing services Microsoft Azure and IBM Cloud.

In addition, all three winners will receive an award of $1,000 in Godzillion tokens (a crowdfunding platform), with first place also receiving an Xbox, courtesy of Microsoft.

Any hackathon event winners that use NEO for their project will also receive GAS rewards in addition to the BSL prizes. Coming first place in the hackathon with a NEO project will result in a 400 GAS prize, with 250 GAS and 100 GAS being awarded to the second or third best projects respectively.

The event will also feature various talks, challenges and mentoring opportunities available for those looking to improve their smart contract programming skills.
