NEO and QRC are holding an event in Japan on December 10th to signal the beginning of a relationship that will help NEO expand into the Japanese market.

QRC is a ‘regtech’ (regulation & technology) specialist venture platform with a presence in the UK, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Vietnam and Malaysia. QRC has three areas to their business. The QRC Hub is a ‘one-stop-shop’ for blockchain projects with the capability to handle design, build and deploy regtech tokens, as well as oversee the legal aspects. QRC Institute works with universities to conduct blockchain research. QRC Ventures is the investment arm of the QRC Group that specialises in regtech projects and tools for the blockchain.

QRC and NEO will work together in a number of areas. Firstly, as QRC and NEO both have a philosophy of compliance, they will work together to devise regulatory guidelines. Secondly, QRC will assist business who would like to be powered by NEO. Thirdly, both parties hope to generate ideas for new business that can be built on the NEO blockchain. In order to attract new talent to help achieve these goals, NEO and QRC will jointly host a blockchain development competition.

Also presenting at the event will be representatives from OKWAVE, Japan’s largest Q&A site, Coinfirm, a blockchain AML risk and compliance platform and Red Pulse, a market research platform who were the first to hold an ICO on NEO.

Speakers

Da Hongfei, NEO Founder / Onchain CEO

CEO of Onchain, founder of NEO, key opinion leader of the Chinese blockchain industry, serial entrepreneur, a Bachelor of Arts graduate capable of coding virus with assembly language. Da Hongfei is blockchain advisor to a handful of banks, brokers, and clearing houses. He has keen insights on the underpinning technologies, various application scenarios, and the industry structure. Da Hongfei came across Bitcoin in 2011, and worked fulltime in the industry since 2013. In 2014, he founded NEO, a blockchain to register, transfer, and exchange digital assets, and led the startup to become the benchmark in the Chinese blockchain community.


Adam Vaziri, QRC CEO

Adam is a blockchain specialist lawyer and a blockchain compliance specialist who Bitcoin Magazine called “a pioneer of blockchains”. He is working to promote blockchain regulations. Adam operates “Bitlegal.io”, a platform that keeps track of the latest information on blockchain law, which was featured in CNN and Washington Post. In 2013, as a director of UKDCA (British Digital Currency Association), he worked to promote blockchain regulation in the UK. He has experience in many areas of licensing. In the Isle of Man, he has successfully issued licenses optimized for blockchains. He is also an active entrepreneur and has founded “Chain of Things”, which is a blockchain lab specializing in IoT and “Blockpass”, a blockchain passport company specializing in KYC.


Matsuda Gen, OKWave Director

Gen established the AS corporation through a student venture in February 2006 just before graduating from the Waseda University School of Commerce. After graduation, he held multiple executive venture positions. After the establishment of AS Group Holdings (now: AS Holdings) Co.Ltd. in 2012 as representative director, Gen took the post of Shingu Corporation Ltd. representative director in August 2016. In September 2017, he began leading the virtual currency and blockchain business as a director of OKWave Co. Ltd. Gen has written many books, made many media appearances and is active in the industry.


Jonathan Ha, Red Pulse CEO

Jonathan Ha is the founder and CEO of Red Pulse. Red Pulse is a Chinese market intelligence platform that aims to combine existing research reporting methods with cutting-edge technologies to solve the problem of information overload. Jonathan has accumulated many years of experience as a management consultant, and has been providing consultancy services on corporate strategies and business development for many financial institutions. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree at the University of Pennsylvania, he received an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, with concentrations in strategy and marketing. Jonathan is a CFA charterholder.


Pawel Kuskowski, Coinfirm CEO

Pawel Kuskowski is co-founder and CEO of Coinfirm, and an advisor on AML / CFT regulation and compliance. He is a former leader of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s global AML process and is currently a supervisor at Eversheds for regulatory risk and compliance. As an expert in compliance and AMF fields, Pawel has extensive experience working with regulatory authorities on global projects for international financial institutions. He also serves as a president of the Polish Compliance Association.
