Neo Global Development is hosting its third panel session of the Polaris Launchpad, titled ‘One More Step to the Smart Economy.’ The livestream event will begin at 2:00 p.m. (UTC) on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. The panel will include the following guests:

Last week, NGD hosted the second Polaris panel titled, ‘Metaverse and NFT: Future or Illusion?’ that focused on NFTs and the blossoming metaverse space. Panel participants included Sky Hut, Rentfuse, Humswap, GhostMarket, and UFO Gaming representatives. In the event, panelists discussed the differences between digital art and NFT-based artwork, use cases for NFTs beyond artwork, what the metaverse is, its role moving forward, and what advancements in the metaverse and NFT technology are necessary to encourage mass adoption.

About the Polaris Launchpad Hackathon

The Polaris Launchpad is the second hackathon and incubation event held since the release of Neo N3 MainNet in 2021. The Polaris Launchpad began on Monday, March 7, 2022, and runs through June 21. The five categories for the Polaris Launchpad are:

  • DeFi
  • Metaverse and NFT
  • DAO
  • Middleware incorporating NeoFS and native Oracle networks
  • General

The total prize pool is US $500,000, with the top project from each event category receiving a Grand Prize of $35,000 plus prize multipliers. Fifteen Excellence Award winners will receive a prize of $8,000 plus multipliers. An additional prize pool of at least $57,500 will be distributed by matching funding contributed by the Neo community.

As was the case with the Neo Frontier Launchpad, NGD is actively seeking to incubate the top projects built during the hackathon. Grand Prize winners will be admitted to NGD’s $200 million EcoBoost program.
