Neo and SpoonOS have announced Hanoi as the second stop on the Scoop AI Hackathon global tour, a competition exploring the intersection of blockchain and AI. The hackathon spans multiple cities worldwide and will run for approximately four months. The first stop on the Scoop AI Hackathon is Moscow, which is currently in the registration phase.

The second stop on the Scoop AI Hackathon, Hanoi Bowl, will follow a hybrid structure, beginning with an online phase for team registration and idea submission, and culminating in an offline hackathon weekend in Hanoi.

Key dates include:

  • Oct. 28 – Nov. 10: Online team registration and idea submission
  • Nov. 10 – Nov. 13: Evaluation phase, with 20 – 25 teams selected for in-person participation
  • Nov. 14: Kickoff Day – featuring live coding sessions
  • Nov. 15: Workshop Day – final development sprint
  • Nov. 16: Pitching Day – teams present prototypes to a panel of judges

Attendees who are not building projects are also welcome to join the offline event to explore demos, attend panels, and network with participants.

Participation and Tracks

Interested developers can apply online by submitting a project proposal and team background. A SpoonOS review team will shortlist selected applicants for in-person attendance and competition.

Two types of participation passes are available:

  • Builder Pass: For developers submitting projects and competing for prizes
  • Explorer Pass: For attendees interested in observing, attending talks, and networking

The hackathon includes three challenge tracks:

  • Productivity Agent – Build AI agents using SpoonOS to streamline workflows and enhance team coordination
  • Model Context Protocol Server – Deploy a functional MCP Server using SpoonOS infrastructure
  • Market Prediction – Explore on-chain prediction markets like Polymarket to build forecasting tools

Prize Pool

The total prize pool for the Hanoi Bowl is US $6,000, distributed as follows:

  • First place: US $2,500
  • Second place: $1,500
  • Third place: $900
  • Fourth place: $550 (×2)

In addition to financial prizes, outstanding projects may be featured on the official Scoop AI Hackathon website and receive post-event promotional support.

ScoopAI Hackathon

The Hanoi Bowl marks the second event of the Scoop AI Hackathon, a months-long global event exploring how blockchain and AI can converge to create transparent and efficient digital systems. The broader hackathon will continue through Jan. 2026, with subsequent stops planned in Ho Chi Minh City, Tokyo, Seoul, Silicon Valley, Bangalore, Beijing, and London.

The overall prize pool for the series totals $100,000, with each city event offering its own challenges and awards. The initiative is part of a joint effort by Neo and SpoonOS to foster a “sentient economy” – an ecosystem where decentralized intelligence, trust, and coordination power next-generation applications.

Participants can find complete details, including hackathon rules, developer tools, and FAQs, in the official Scoop AI Hackathon Handbook. The handbook includes SDK links, TestNet information, and guidance for building on the Neo and SpoonOS technology stack.

Developers are encouraged to join the SpoonOS Discord server for support and team formation. General inquiries can be directed to hackathon@neo.org.
