On November 19th, Switcheo Exchange launched the Callisto update, which now includes functionality to trade Ethereum ERC-20 tokens on its decentralized exchange (DEX). Switcheo also plans to add a Qtum QRC-20 token DEX to its platform, and eventually cross-chain trading among the three blockchains. According to Switcheo Exchange, this is the first non-custodian exchange to support both NEO and Ethereum blockchains.

On the launch of Callisto, Switcheo CEO Ivan Poon stated “our users can now trade on two different blockchains while retaining ownership of their funds, they will no longer need to create trading accounts on different exchanges, thus lessening their risks of getting hacked.”

According to chief commercial officer Jack Yeu, since the Switcheo Exchange trading platform launched in March of 2018, daily trading volume has peaked at USD $3 million with over 25,300 daily active users.

Though the Ethereum DEX is now active on Switcheo, the platform has not yet incorporated cross-chain trading with interoperability functionality in development. Poon stated, “each blockchain runs on its own unique protocol and, there is no current technology that facilitate their interaction with one another.”

In addition to the launch of Callisto, Switcheo Exchange was recently incorporated into the Blockfolio Signal portfolio monitoring application.

Callisto is planned to list more than 22 ERC-20 tokens, and listed the following tokens at launch:

Raffle to welcome Callisto launch

To celebrate the launch of Callisto, Switcheo will host a raffle event to reward randomly selected traders who use Switcheo Exchange between 12:00 pm (UTC +8), Wednesday, November 21st and 12:00 pm (UTC +8), Tuesday, December 4th.

33 individuals will be rewarded from a pool of 18 ETH and 6,000 DAI, broken down as follows:

  • First Place: 10 ETH
  • Second Place: 5 ETH
  • Third Place: 3 ETH
  • Fourth – 33rd Place: 30 traders to evenly split from pool of 6,000 DAI

To qualify for the raffle, users will receive 1 ticket for every 1 ETH token traded. Additionally, participants must meet the following pre-requisites:
