nOS has announced its second developer competition, calling on developers to build web applications that incorporate nOS ID and the NOS token. The first nOS developer event concluded in August 2018, which resulted in more than 60 dApps deploying to nOSNet.
nOS ID is an identity solution that follows the OAuth 2 standard, allowing users to log in or create accounts with a single click, similar to “Login with Facebook.” With nOS ID, web applications can “read the user’s username, email, holding score, and verified crypto-currency addresses.”
Each entry to the competition must incorporate nOS ID as the sole registration and sign-in method. Browser, mobile, and desktop applications are all accepted. Submissions do not need to be open-source and may operate under any license.
Additionally, applications must utilize the NOS token in some manner. Examples may include accepting NOS for payments, or “granting initial features, points, [experience points] based on NOS balance or Holding Score.”
Lastly, participants must be active in the nOS Discord channel, where they’ll also be able to find nOS support as the projects develop.
The top five entries will split a pool of 275,000 NOS tokens accordingly:
- 1st Place: 125,000 NOS
- 2nd Place: 75,000 NOS
- 3rd to 5th Place: 25,000 NOS (each)
nOS will release application forms for the second developer competition before the end of April. However, any developer who wishes to begin building their nOS application, can begin to do so prior to submitting their application form.
The deadline for application submissions is 11:59 pm (UTC) on Friday, June 14th.
