Da Hongfei, founder of NEO, recently made a trip to Seoul, South Korea to attend a meetup hosted at Yonsei Univeristy, and to speak at the “Blockchain Revolution: Integrating Blockchain with the Traditional Economy” conference.
On Tuesday, January 16, 2018 Hongfei attended the Blockchain Meetup for Student Developers at the Yongsei Blockchain Lab to make a presentation entitled “Blockchain in China featuring NEO, Onchain and Ontology.” Yongsei University is one of Korea’s three most prestigious universities in the country.
The following day at 4:45 pm KST, Hongfei spoke at the conference held at Seoul Dragon City Novotel Hotel in Seoul, KR. Other speakers included Zhao Changing, CEO of Binance, and Don Tapscott, tech futurist and co-author of “Blockchain Revolution.”
The conference was sponsored by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Seoul Economic Daily, and SYNCO Investment. Registration for the event was capped at 350 attendee’s, and individuals were accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
In his 32-minute presentation Da Hongfei covered the history of NEO, the current status of NEO, how NEO compares to Ethereum and differentiates itself, NEO’s vision of the Smart Economy, private companies Onchain and Ontology, and current Chinese regulations facing blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
After the 32-minute speech, Da Hongfei ended on a positive note with the following quote by futurist Will Gibson, “the future is already here, it’s just not evenly distributed.”
