NeoBox, the decentralized file storage platform leveraging NeoFS, has announced a series of updates, including developments regarding its token generation event and updates to its Telegram app. The updates were shared via Twitter, alongside news of an upcoming game.
Token Generation Event update
NeoBox made a series of statements aimed at providing further clarity on the status of its upcoming NEOBOX token generation event.
A presale for the NEOBOX token was opened to the community in May 2024, with a goal of raising 100,000 NEO across two phases. The first phase was scheduled to run until a goal of 50,000 NEO was reached, for which all participants would receive 100% of their token allocation upon generation and distribution. The second phase was aimed at raising another 50,000 NEO, with contributors able to claim 25% of their tokens upon generation, and the final 75% six months after the generation event. The presale was closed on Aug. 1, 2024 having fallen well short of its goal.
In its recent updates, NeoBox emphasized that minting the NEOBOX token without sufficient investor backing would hinder the project’s growth and token performance. It noted that it is actively seeking early-stage investors and continues to attend exhibitions and collaborate with industry partners, including Neo, to secure reliable funding.
Despite raising significantly fewer funds than initially planned, the NeoBox team reassured its community that the airdrop percentage for token distribution remains unchanged. Early participants will still benefit from the same distribution rates as if the fundraising had reached its original target. The team also confirmed that it will follow its roadmap, with plans to launch the token by the set deadlines, regardless of whether additional investors are secured. The official token launch is scheduled on the NeoBox website for Q4 2025.

New Quests and Game Launch
The NeoBox team has rolled out updates to its Telegram app, with users now able to access over a dozen new quests. The team also revealed plans to launch a brand-new game directly within the NeoBox Telegram app that will feature competitive elements, offering players a chance to win prizes.
Further, NeoBox announced that it will soon be able to significantly increase its weekly leaderboard rewards thanks to support from the Neo Foundation.
Background
NeoBox, built by the same team as Pixudi, initially launched its Dropbox-like app in early 2024, allowing users to upload and access files on the NeoFS distributed storage network. In addition to storage functionality, the platform offers a range of mini-games, including Snake, Tetris, and a custom-built puzzle game. NeoBox also hosts NeoDocs, a document editor for creating text or PDF files.
In August 2024, NeoBox introduced a Telegram app that rewards users for completing tasks such as following social media accounts and inviting friends. Users earn XCrystals points, which are used to rank participants on a leaderboard and can be exchanged for rewards, including future NEOBOX tokens.
