Neo Global Development recently concluded a week-long showcase of the top projects from the Neo Frontier Launchpad. During the week of July 26, 2021, 13 teams from the hackathon event gave live online demonstrations of their work. Recordings of the presentations have been uploaded to the official Neo YouTube channel.
The Neo Frontier Launchpad was designed to encourage developers to start new projects on Neo N3. More than US $100,000 in prizes were awarded along with incubation opportunities to the top 11 ranked submissions. All winners will receive a custom vested NEO package through Neo’s Early Adopter Program. The packages are intended to reward participants for continuing development beyond the competition and are released based on certain milestones determined by NGD EcoGrowth.
A timestamped video of each of the demos can be found below:
Rentfuse
Best NFT Project winner.
Rentfuse is a protocol layer that enables Neo N3 NFT owners to rent out their assets. Owners can lend NFTs to generate revenue and borrowers can rent NFTs to use them temporarily. A smart contract manages the NFT rent agreements between owners and tenants and provides a functional interface to other contracts that allow the interaction with rented assets. Furthermore, NFTs don’t change ownership through the whole rent process, removing the risk of not having an asset returned.
Lyrebird
Best DeFi Project winner.
Lyrebird intends to be a community-owned synthetic asset platform that can mint fungible tokens pegged to the values of world currencies, securities, crypto assets, and anything else that can have a well-defined price. The protocol maintains pegs on desired currencies by guaranteeing that the Lyrebird token (LRB) can always be exchanged for each stablecoin at a fair value. For example, $1 worth of LRB can be consumed to mint one Lyrebird USD (LUSD) token, and vice versa. The protocol relies on arbitrageurs to stabilize the prices of its stablecoins on exchanges.
Intellij
Best General Project winner.
The Intellij Plugin for Neo Blockchain is the Neo Blockchain Toolkit for VS Code analog for JetBrains Intellij-based IDEs. It allows users to create and manage PrivateNets, explore blocks and transactions, create wallets and transfer assets, and deploy and invoke contracts on PrivateNets.
Tantalis
Excellence award winner.
Tantalis is an NFT creation, discovery, and marketplace dApp. Tantails allows users to deploy their own NFT smart contract from the browser, add NFTs to their previously deployed smart contracts, or add NFTs to the Tantalis platform smart contract (public NFT smart contract). It also enables the buying and selling of NFTs. In the future, Tantalis plans to include a data market.
ArGo
Excellence award winner.
ArGo is a platform that ships user data and web applications to decentralized ecosystems with ease. ArGo provides a utility that allows developers to publish their data or web apps to the NeoFS decentralized object storage system. ArGo’s goal is to become the AWS of the decentralized web.
NOTAI
Excellence award winner.
Notai lets you send payments to anyone with your own condition. The service introduces the ability for an individual to create an escrow account on the blockchain and transfer funds to it, which can be designated to a recipient account. The recipient can then release these funds when a particular condition is met. The sender would specify the condition along with a payment expiry date. If the requirement is not fulfilled by the expiry, the sender can cancel the payment, whereby the funds will be transferred back to the sender’s account.
HumSwap
Excellence award winner.
HumSwap focuses on NFTs. Users can play PitaToss to win both PITA or rare NFTs, participate in Auctions to win NFTs, or purchase an NFT directly with PITA tokens. HumSwap draws inspiration from projects such as CryptoPunks, Pancakeswap, and Uniswap. Follow-on releases will likely include Liquidity Pool and Swap functionality and NFT related integrations into DeFi products (such as multiplier-based rewards for owning NFTs).
Cattery
Excellence award winner.
Cattery is an invitation-only social media app for iOS and Android where users can communicate in voice chat rooms that accommodate groups of thousands of people. The audio-only app hosts live discussions, with opportunities to participate through speaking and listening. Membership permissions are granted by holding an NFT, where each user can mint two NFTs to invite others to the platform.
Impel
Excellence award winner.
Impel is an innovative solution designed to help motivate people and communities to become fitter by providing an incentivized financial approach. It does so by leveraging N3 smart contracts to manage financial commitments to challenges and verifying activity by collecting data from the Strava fitness tracking application.
TOTHEMOON UNIVERSE
Excellence award winner.
TOTHEMOON UNIVERSE is a strategic community-building NFT game where collectors will engage with its metaverse to be a part of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Moon plot owners and moon teams have their own governance systems with rules set by these plot owners. There are NFT staking requirements for building Moon Infrastructures and a set max supply for each NFT. This creates a supply and demand economy where the NFT collectors community and Moon Plot Teams interact through the TOTHEMOON UNIVERSE marketplace.
De-centralize Data, Research, and Management Consulting
To decentralize the paid data, research, and management consulting industries, this team built a platform to allow researchers to “Be your own management consultant firm.” What DDR is looking to create is a decentralized exchange platform where professionals can pay qualified individuals for strategic, legal information, and directly skipping the middleman.
Chain.Game
Chain.Game is an RPG in-browser game, where the items in the game are built as NFTs. As players progress through the game’s story, they will gain new skills and equipment to be better prepared for their following challenges.
Meerkat
Meerkat is an NFT marketplace that allows artists to share their digital content with the world. The smart contract was written in C#, the front-en was built using AngularJS, and the team used the Neo Blockchain Toolkit for VS Code to get started and set up.
