NewEconoLabs (NEL), a Chinese community of open source developers that support the NEO ecosystem, has published its progress report for May.

Highlights from the report were as follows:

NEL made some extensive progress on its NEODUN hardware wallet. One of the changes to NEODUN was in its architecture to allow the inclusion of plugins to increase its scalability. According to NEL, the plugins will support various types of coins and tokens, as well as other plugins that can detect if the wallet has been tampered with.

There were other technical changes made to the wallet that you can read here.

NEL also worked on its NEO blockchain explorer. The team researched the Alibaba Cloud OSS Object Storage Service to improve its file storage system. A new service was configured for the blockchain explorer that would also suit NEL’s other projects. At present, the storage system is deployed in a Testnet environment.

A number of changes were made to the backend of NEL’s applications. NEL claims that the O3 wallet’s backend was changed to a NEL series API that now controls the important operations of the O3 Wallet’s user interface. This change was part of O3’s strategic cooperation with NEL that was announced March this year.

Various other updates were made to the ThinkSDK, WeChat mini-program, Testnet & Mainnet wallet, as well a various contributions to the NEO-CLI project.
