Neo recently made an appearance at Consensus 2022 in Austin, Texas, with an interactive booth experience. Visitors had the chance to learn about the Neo N3 platform, talk to community representatives, and play the Chest Game to win prizes using paper wallets provided at the booth.

Dean Jeffs, founder of Neo News Today, shared his thoughts on the event and response to the booth from the broader blockchain community:

Consensus 2022 was an amazing event for Neo. I think for a while now we’ve known within the community that Neo N3 is “open for business,” shall we say, but this really felt like a big step forward in making people outside of our circle aware of that too.

There were typically two types of people that visited our booth. Firstly, people who joined the blockchain space after maybe late 2018 / early 2019, and didn’t know what Neo was. We were able to make a great first impression on them with N3. Depending on who they were, we had many things to show them. Our demo stations were loaded up with smart contract examples in different languages, ecosystem dApps, information on grant programs, and so on.

Secondly, there were the people who became aware of AntShares / Neo in 2017 and it was one of the first chains they became interested in. Overwhelmingly, this group was so excited to see us. I’ve been telling people the experience was very much like Neo was their favorite band in college and they really remembered how we made them feel.

We don’t think about it much now because it seems so obvious, but Neo was really one of the first to talk about digitizing assets (remember “Smart Contracts + Digital Identity + Digital Assets = Smart Economy”?). Multiple people told me that this message was what made blockchain “click” for them, and so to show up with N3 – a platform that very much delivers on the vision Neo had way ahead of its time – it really made people happy.

Of course, having the chest demo where visitors could use an NFT to unlock a physical box to win ecosystem tokens was very popular also. Attendees were really impressed that we showed up with a demo that actually used the blockchain, and many projects building on Neo received exposure through this digital activation.

Finally, I just want to note that we had ten people working at the Neo booth and they were all flat out like a lizard drinking the entire time. We had well over 500 attendees play the chest game and easily over 3,000 people came through our booth – maybe many more. We all met so many interesting projects and people, and we’re all very excited to continue our conversations and see what happens next.
