Neo has opened registration for the Tokyo GAS Station, the first in a series of offline events as part of the ongoing APAC Hackathon. The Tokyo GAS Station, a two-day hackathon weekend, will take place from July 22 to July 23 at CryptoBase, located at NIB SHIBUYA in Tokyo, Shibuya City. This event offers a platform for Web3 enthusiasts to participate in panel discussions, Web3 workshops, and compete for prizes.
GAS Station
Participants who attend GAS Stations as part of the Neo APAC Hackathon will be competing to win one of two US $5,000 prizes along with an invitation to attend the Hong Kong Finale, complete with a $1,000 travel grant. Those who make it through to Hong Kong will compete for one of five $10,000 prizes, and the opportunity to share in a $1 million post-hackathon grant fund.
The two-day GAS Station event consists of:
- Day 1 (July 22nd): An introductory workshop on development on Neo, a panel discussion, and a hackathon that includes team work, mentoring sessions, and late-night lightning talks.
- Day 2 (July 23rd): A second workshop on scaling blockchains with rollups and zero-knowledge proofs, a developers’ focused work session during the hackathon, and a project demo session with Q&A, review, winner announcements, and celebrations.
Registration is mandatory for those who wish to attend the event, and all participants must be 18 years of age or older. Anyone unable to attend a GAS Station in person can still participate in the overall APAC Hackathon event by registering and submitting projects online.
Afterparty
Following the Tokyo GAS Station, an afterparty is planned for July 23, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. This event, cohosted by KaratDAO and Neo, will take place at 107-0061 5F AO Building 3-11-7 Kita-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

It also includes a check-in and photoshoot, introductions from each sponsor, and a social cocktail party where all food and drinks are provided by Karat and Neo.
