NEO Global Development (NGD) will be participating in the Blockchain Summit Latam (BSL) taking place in Bogotá, Colombia on October 17th and 18th. This BSL will be the third NEO has been involved with, having previously provided a keynote speech and hackathon support in May of 2018, and hackathon support in August of 2018.

The BSL conference aims to encourage the adoption of blockchain technology in South America. A primary objective of the BSL is to foster the connection between developers and promoters of the event, with regulators and industry leaders. More than 25 speakers have been confirmed, and it is expected that more than 600 participants will attend the two-day event.

On Wednesday, October 17th, NEO Global Development business manager, Tamar Salant, will provide a keynote presentation from 14:35 to 15:00. Tamar’s talk is titled “NEO Smart Economy, Where are we Heading?”

Later in the day, City of Zion (CoZ) developer, Jaime Kindelan, will host a workshop in Spanish entitled “Developing a Decentralized Application on NEO.” Jaime (also known as @Belane on Discord), is on the CoZ security team and provides blockchain code auditing, and security analysis of new projects. The workshop is scheduled to run from 16:55 to 17:40.

In addition to the speech and workshop, NEO’s presence will also be noticed at the BSL Hackathon. Jaime Kindelan and fellow CoZ member Fernando Díaz Toledano (also known as @Shargon on Discord) will participate as mentors and advise teams. Fernando is a security specialist who also provides blockchain code auditing, and security analysis of new projects. Jaime and Fernando together run the security firm, Red4Sec.

Any hackathon event winners that use NEO for their project will also receive GAS rewards in addition to the BSL prizes. Coming first place in the hackathon with a NEO project will result in a 400 GAS prize, with 250 GAS and 100 GAS being awarded to the second or third best projects respectively.
