Neo Global Development is hosting the first panel session of its Polaris Launchpad, which will focus on DeFi and is titled The Revolution of Traditional Commerce. The livestream event will begin at 2:00 p.m. (UTC) on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. The panel will include the following guests:

  • Adrian Fjellberg, Flamingo lead developer
  • William Song, Lyrebird founder
  • Denis Suslov, NGD business development manager
  • Ivan Poon, Carbon founder
  • Matt Power, O3 Labs communication director

Earlier in the week, Neo held an Opening Ceremony livestream for the Polaris Launchpad, of which the replay can be found here. The stream included an overview of Neo N3 and how the platform fits into Web3, the technical aspects of the Neo ecosystem, examples of types of projects NGD would like to see in the hackathon, and details about the format and timeline of the launchpad event.

About the Polaris Launchpad Hackathon

The Polaris Launchpad is the second hackathon and incubation event held since the release of Neo N3 MainNet in 2021. The Polaris Launchpad began on Monday, March 7, 2022, and runs through June 21. The five categories for the Polaris Launchpad are:

  • DeFi
  • Metaverse and NFT
  • DAO
  • Middleware incorporating NeoFS and native Oracle networks
  • General

The total prize pool is US $500,000 with the top project from each event category receiving a Grand Prize of $35,000 plus prize multipliers. Fifteen Excellence Award winners will receive an prize of $8,000 plus multipliers. An additional prize pool of at least $57,500 will be distributed by matching funding contributed by the Neo community.

As was the case with the Neo Frontier Launchpad, NGD is actively seeking to incubate the top projects built during the hackathon. Grand Prize winners will be admitted to NGD’s $200 million EcoBoost program.
