Neo Global Development has welcomed METAFORRA to join the EcoBoost program. As part of the partnership, NGD will offer support and incubation opportunities to bolster METAFORRA’s expansion into Web3 gaming.

METAFORRA is a GameFi ecosystem that focuses on mobile and cross-platform games. Additionally, the platform offers an NFT marketplace and education technology components. The team comprises individuals from various industries, including gaming, blockchain, banking, and telecommunication.

To date, the team has achieved relative success in the Web2-gaming space, claiming more than 1 million downloads across previous non-blockchain games. METAFORRA is aimed at addressing issues associated with Web3-integrated games, such as listing in the Apple Store and Google Play, improving the onboarding experience, and building a solid gameplay and player experience.

The METAFORRA team intends to support five games on the platform, including Futuructa, Quantum War, Steampunk Tower, Steampunk Tower 2, and Idle Raider of the Dice Heroes. Currently, the Futuructa game is available for play on Android and iOS phones, which allows users to play immediately after downloading without any wallet creation process.

Alongside its support for user experience-focused games, METAFORRA incorporates a dual-token model, with a METTA governance token and a FORRA utility token. METTA has a total cap of 1 billion and is used for liquidity pools, staking, marketplace activities, and purchasing tickets for entering tournaments. FORRA has an unlimited total cap and is used for in-app purchases, in-game staking, marketplace activities, and purchasing tickets to enter tournaments.

Looking forward, METAFORRA and NGD seek to collaborate on creating a gaming ecosystem that competes against traditional games by offering players more control of their assets and data. Director of Neo EcoGrowth John Wang said, “We expect that the streamlined onboarding and engaging gameplay experiences METAFORRA can offer will make it easy for users new to blockchain to experience its benefits firsthand.”

The EcoBoost program launched in 2019, and was initially seeded with US $100 million to focus on recruiting partners. In 2022, the program relaunched with an increased treasury of $200 million and is seeking to assist in onboarding dApps, projects, and teams into the Neo ecosystem. Ultimately, the program is designed to incubate businesses that drive the growth and success of projects utilizing the Neo blockchain.
