Effect.AI has formed a technological partnership with Civic, a secure identity verification provider. Civic seeks to provide multi-factor authentication, reusable Know Your Customer (KYC) user verification, ID codes for digital verification, and identity theft protection.
Civic’s Secure Identity Platform (SIP) uses a “verified identity for multi-factor authentication on web and mobile apps without the need for usernames or passwords.” The platform seeks to authenticate individuals without the need for physical identification cards (such as drivers licenses and passports), knowledge-based authentication, and two-factor hardware tokens. User identity data will be wholly encrypted on the application, which will require biometrics (such as a fingerprint) to access information.
The partnership will allow Effect.AI to “leverage Civic’s Secure Identity Platform to accurately identify unique skills of individual Workers on the Effect Force micro task platform.” Workers who are interested in creating an account on Effect Force will be able to safely upload their ID information, diplomas, and other relevant certificates. The aim is to better connect workers with tasks that are suitable to their skillsets. This will allow Effect.AI to “provide the amount of granularity needed for the inevitable ramp up in task complexity.”
Jonathan Smith, CTO of Civic, stated the identity verification provider seeks to provide “foolproof security for [Effect.AI’s] mechanical work platform and Smart Market for AI services.”
