ITEM Systems is set to bring a guerrilla-style activation to Consensus 2024, being held May 29 through 31 in Austin, Texas. This event will feature a scavenger hunt where participants can win an iPad Air by locating representatives from four distinct groups: ITEM Systems, COZ, The Smart Economy Podcast, and Wachsman PR.

During the activation, representatives from these groups will be wearing their own company brand apparel embedded with NFI chips. Conference attendees are required to collect a scan from each of the four groups’ shirts to enter the draw for the iPad Air. Scans can be collected with any NFC-enabled phone with no software download required.

In addition to the scavenger hunt, ITEM Systems will be distributing shirts to attendees who participate in the event. These shirts will also be equipped with NFI chips, enabling participants to become waypoints for others in the hunt, thus broadening the interactive element of the activation.

This activation at Consensus 2024 builds on similar successful events held at Paris Blockchain Week, Consensus 2023, ETH Denver, Denver Walls, and Hobby Hangout. In these previous events, users engaged with NFIs to redeem prizes, generate NFTs, or set custom traits on their NFIs, creating a buzz of activity and interest.

Furthermore, attendees who collected a OneBand ring at last year’s Consensus can meet with ITEM Systems team members and show their ring to receive an upgraded model. The OneBand was a key feature of the popular Neo booth, where visitors used their rings to scan waypoints and generate random traits on a generative NFT on-chain.
