The Metaverse Alliance is offering $420,000 in prize and grant rewards for projects participating in an ongoing hackathon. As part of the “Metathon,” there will be two pools of guaranteed rewards for participants, category-based and grant prizes, and potential incubation support post-event. Neo and the Metaverse Alliance recently announced a partnership, and Neo is supporting the event as a sponsor by contributing to the grant pool.

The Metaverse Alliance is an industry consortium aiming to further the development and growth of the metaverse and blockchain space. In addition to Neo, members include KuCoin, DoraHacks, OKEx, and many more.

The Metathon is a virtual hackathon comprising six tracts and offering rewards and grants from two funding pools. The first prize pool offers rewards for the top three teams of each of the six categories for the event. The total prize pool is $300,000, divided equally between six categories:

  • Metaverse infrastructure
  • GameFi
  • DAO stack
  • SocialFi
  • Financial NFT
  • Miscellaneous

The miscellaneous category includes the most creative, most promising, most popular, best technical, best design, and best prospect project.

The second pool offers a total of $120,000 in grants, of which Neo contributed $10,000.
