NEO DevCon Seattle

NEO’s upcoming developer conference, scheduled for February 16th and 17th, 2019 in Seattle, Washington, was a major focus for NGD during the month of January. 47 speakers have already been announced for the two-day event. Accenture managing director Miha Kralj, three representatives from Microsoft, and the State of Washington Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector lead are scheduled to speak on the conference’s first day.

NEO-CLI 2.9.4 Release

NEO’s 2.9.4 release of its full node software, NEO-CLI, is meant to improve communication performance and stability. Development work focused on consensus node communication and pending transactions in the nodes’ memory pool.

NEO-CLI 2.9.4 can also be run as a service (in the background, with no user interface) in the Windows operating system. Support for plugins, such as the ImportBlocks plugin to speed blockchain synchronization, was also streamlined through the use of install and uninstall commands in the client.

Work also continued through the month on the upcoming 2.9.5 release, which is expected to contain numerous further improvements to NEO’s consensus mechanism and the blockchain’s stability.

NGD Annual Meeting

NEO Global Development held its annual meeting in the third week of January in Pattaya, Thailand. The meeting represented a chance for NGD employees worldwide to meet face-to-face and plan ahead for the next year’s events.
