NEO Global Development (NGD) has opened registrations for its new NEO Friends initiative. The NEO Friends program was announced at NEO DevCon 2019 and is offering various forms of resources to NEO community members who contribute to the development of the ecosystem. Contributions may include activities such as document translation, original content creation, online initiatives, or hosting events.

NEO Friends is open to both developers and non-developers and seeks to provide an avenue of support for community members of various skill sets. In an interview with NEO News Today at NEO DevCon 2019, NGD global business development manager, Tamar Salant, spoke about the program:

“It’s building global communities for NEO. The NEO community at the moment is absolutely incredible, as we know, but there is a lot of work that only developers can do. And it keeps a lot of people outside of the loop, maybe people who want to contribute more and help build the Smart Economy from different angles maybe don’t feel as connected at this moment.

We’ve been having workshops and we’ve been having meetings, and we’ve been meeting with local communities all across the globe this past year. We see the enthusiasm. We know a lot of people who want to translate content into their local languages. People who want to organize NEO meetups in different regions, who go to university as students or are part of the academic world, and want to be more active in understanding blockchain, DLT technology, and talk about NEO as well. We’re creating this program to help foster, and to strengthen these local communities.”

To apply for the NEO Friends program, interested participants can fill out the form at the below link. Basic information is required such as name and social handles, as well as details on how the applicant believes they can contribute to the community.
