Neo Global Development announced the winners of the Polaris Launchpad hackathon event, awarding prizes from a US $500,000 pool. Five grand prizes were available across five Polaris Launchpad categories, in addition to 14 excellence awards and one special mention award. The winning projects included:

  • Best DeFi Project: Pumpkin Swap, a Uniswap-like non-custodial exchange
  • Best DAO Project: NeoDao, a toolkit and client-side Javascript library for building DAOs
  • Best General Project: Bamboo, a social media platform to bridge Web2 and Web3
  • Best Metaverse and NFT Project: DogeRift, a GameFi app built on Neo
  • Best Oracle or NeoFS Middleware Project: Greenfinch, a decentralized dropbox built on NeoFS

The third and final phase of the Polaris Launchpad, Polaris Plus, begins June 8 and runs through June 21. This portion of the event will take place on the DoraHacks platform. The Neo community will contribute GAS to their favorite projects, which NGD will then match through quadratic funding from a minimum $57,500 pool.

NGD released Neo-CLI v3.3, featuring a range of new functionality, including snapshot isolation and new opcodes for supporting zero-knowledge applications. Unlike most previous updates, v3.3 includes code-level price changes, requiring a coordinated hard fork.

NGD announced it is increasing the EcoBoost fund to US $200 million to bolster the onboarding of dApps, projects, and teams into the Neo ecosystem. NGD intends the funding increase to signal an expanding commitment to supporting high-potential projects building on Neo N3.

NGD extended the Neospective round two deadline to July 5, 2022, and will increase the first place prize from $1,000 to $1,200. Neospective is an ongoing creative competition sponsored by Neo Global Development. In round two, the Neo community’s task is to create a mascot for the Launchpad series of hackathons.
