Neo will sponsor, host, and attend several blockchain events in Tokyo, Japan, this next week. Over the following days, a large-scale multi-chain blockchain event will take place in Japan’s capital, as well as an Ethereum-focussed hackathon and conference, where Neo seeks to make multiple impressions. Neo Global Development will host a booth and activation at the WebX conference, sponsor a track prize at the ETH Tokyo hackathon, participate in a panel at WebX, and co-host multiple afterparties.
WebX Asia Activation and Footprint
Neo is a platinum sponsor at WebX Asia 2024, which will take place in Tokyo on Aug. 28 and 29. WebX 2024 is a large-scale event that’s produced by CoinPost, Japan’s largest Web3 media entity. WebX is a prominent blockchain conference in Japan, which attracted approximately 16,500 attendees from more than 40 countries in 2023 and is anticipated to have a larger impact this year.
In line with previous premier blockchain and crypto conferences (i.e., Consensus 2023, TOKEN2049, Paris Blockchain Week), Neo’s WebX booth will host an activation powered by non-fungible item technology.
In the NFI-enabled game BlockSpirits, booth visitors will receive a physical card and tap-scan it to unlock a character. Each minted “Spirit” character will be based on one of four elements (earth, fire, water, or wind) and rank differently in various characteristics (i.e., charisma, constitution, dexterity, intelligence, wisdom, and strength). Once unlocked, booth attendees can battle their characters against others by scanning their QR code to engage in gameplay.
Additionally, NGD head of ecosystem growth John Wang is scheduled to participate in a panel taking place on Aug. 29 at the TRON Stage. The panel is entitled Cross-chain Communication: The Future of Interoperable Blockchain Networks.
As well as having a footprint at one of Japan’s leading blockchain conferences, Neo will foster connecting individuals with other businesses and builders in a more relaxed environment at multiple afterparties.
WebX Extracurricular Events: Neo Vibe Tokyo and OKJ Night
Ahead of the WebX conference on Aug. 25, NGD will co-host Neo Vibe Tokyo in collaboration with CoinTelegraph Japan, OKJ, and Neo Smart Economy Japan. The pre-conference party is designed to celebrate the launch of Neo X. Five visitors will be chosen randomly to receive a WebX conference ticket, and the first 50 visitors will receive a Neo hat. The event will offer presentations and panel discussions from AxLabs, OKJ, Digital Entertainment Asset, GensoKishi Online, CoinPost, and MATR1X.
On Aug. 29, the last night of the WebX conference, Neo will co-host OKJ Night with OKJ, DEP, Mask Network, and Sui. OKJ Night is an official side event of the WebX conference and will showcase OKCoinJapan’s rebrand to OKJ. The custodial exchange recently added support for the NEO/JPY trading market after receiving regulatory approval from the Japanese Financial Services Agency this Summer. OKJ Night will feature a dinner, networking opportunities, and a lottery for attendees to potentially win prizes.
Along with supporting the entertaining evening festivities, Neo will seek to make an impression at ETH Tokyo, touted as a significant event for its hackathon, conglomeration of industry leaders, and evolutionary impact on the Ethereum ecosystem.
ETH Tokyo Hackathon and Conference
NGD is a silver sponsor of ETH Tokyo, a global hackathon oriented toward the Ethereum ecosystem taking place Aug. 23 to 26. The first three days of the event are dedicated to the hackathon, and the fourth day will offer a conference with panels and presentations from Web3 builders and projects.
The hackathon features a Neo X track, offering the winner a US $1,000 grant prize and potential support from the Elevate Program that’s offering up to $20 million in funding opportunities to build on Neo’s EVM sidechain. On the last day of ETH Tokyo, Neo will have a booth on-site during the conference portion of the event.
