General Updates
Neo released version 3.7.5, a hotfix update aimed at addressing an edge case vulnerability where method calls performed after a contract update would check permissions using the updated contract state instead of the original executing context. Though checks against MainNet and TestNet state revealed no instances in the ledger history where the adjustment would modify past behavior, the decision was made to only enforce the change after a hard fork. This fork, Neo’s fourth, is named Domovoi and will be carried out at block heights 5,570,000 and 4,144,000 for MainNet and TestNet respectively.
Neo released its monthly update report for March and April 2024, which noted the Neo N3 network surpassing 100,000 wallets, the finalization and integration of the NEP-24 NFT royalty standard, the beta launch of the Neo X EVM sidechain TestNet, NEO perpetual futures launching on Kraken Pro, the addition of two new Neo core developers, new partnerships, and events attended.

Neobox announced an airdrop campaign for participants to earn bonus NEOBOX NEP-17 tokens ahead of the project’s token generation event. For each milestone of GAS or NEO contributions to the pre-sale, participants will receive an additional portion of the forthcoming NEOBOX total supply. For example, if a user contributes 1,000 GAS or 333 NEO, they’ll receive a bonus of 0.002% of the NEOBOX supply.
nDapp added NEO.Coupons to its app and dApp discovery platform. NEO.Coupons is a platform that enables users to create downloadable token coupons that can be printed and redeemed online, providing a novel way to distribute cryptocurrency.
Flamingo shared statistics on the FLUND single-sided staking token for week 23 of 2024, noting approximately $8.44 million in total value, $4.43 million in total minting rewards, and $811,000 in total trading fee rewards.
Developer Updates
Neo SPCC released NeoGo v0.106.2, a minor update that is fully compatible with Neo 3.7.5 and the upcoming Domovoi hard fork. The update provides a fix for the contract call permissions vulnerability. Other small adjustments include modifications to log behaviors, as well as NeoFS-specific improvements.
NNT Catch Up
NNT editors hosted Crypto Coffee and Blockchain Beer Spaces #21 on the official The Smart Economy Podcast X account. Topics of discussion included the token economic impact of GAS generation on N3 even though it’s the primary utility token on X, the merits of a native N3 to X bridge, bootstrapping early users on the X EVM sidechain, and development improvements since NCA in Oct. 2023.
Neo SPCC shared new benchmarking results of the dBFT protocol as implemented in NeoGo. The report demonstrates significant advancements in network performance in the team’s most realistic distributed test environment so far. In a distributed environment, emulating a public network with seven consensus nodes spread across multiple data centers, NeoGo sustained 17,516 transactions per second at a 300 millisecond block time.
