TOTHEMOON has opened its migration portal for holders to register their Neo-based NFTs for transfer to Base. Token migration remains open until Sept. 24, and the team has committed to refunding all unfusing fees for holders who need to separate fused Cryptonauts before migrating.
The NFT migration portal is live at nft-migrate.tothemoonuniverse.com. A separate token migration portal, which has been live since Sep. 2025, is available at migrate.tothemoonuniverse.com. The two processes are distinct and holders with both assets will need to complete each separately.
How NFT migration works
To register NFTs for migration, holders must connect both a Neo wallet (where their existing TOTHEMOON NFTs reside) and a Base wallet (where the NFTs will be received). Once both wallets are connected, the portal displays the number of TOTHEMOON NFTs available for migration.
Holders click MIGRATE then CONFIRM to register all NFTs in the connected Neo wallet. After registration:
- NFTs are locked on the Neo wallet and cannot be transferred.
- A Migration ID is assigned, and the status shows as PENDING.
- Migration can be canceled at any time before the migration date, which will unlock the NFTs on Neo.
The team has not yet announced the specific date on which PENDING registrations will be processed and NFTs minted on Base. A follow-up announcement will be made closer to that date. Infrastructure NFT migration will follow the main NFT migration on a timeline also yet to be specified.
Once migration completes, TOTHEMOON NFTs remaining on Neo will be permanently locked and cannot be recovered, unlocked, or transferred on the Neo blockchain.
Cryptonaut holders: unfusing before migration
Holders who fused Cryptonauts will need to unfuse those Cryptonauts before migrating them. Unfusing normally costs 1 GAS plus a transaction fee.
The team will refund the 1 GAS portion of that fee for all unfusing transactions made in preparation for migration. Refunds will be processed every 24 to 48 hours.
Fusion Battles shelved on Neo; Cryptonaut Battles coming to Base
The team built Fusion Battles v2 on Neo, including item add-ons and upgrades, and the team claims Neo contract is complete. However, the feature has been shelved due to insufficient on-chain activity. According to the announcement, activity and interest have slowed significantly, and on-chain appetite is not where it needs to be for Battles to be viable.
The feature will instead launch on Base under a new name: Cryptonaut Battles. The Base version will use only Cryptonaut NFTs, which the team hopes will lower the barrier to entry compared to the previous Fusions model.
No launch date or further product details for Cryptonaut Battles on Base have been announced.
