The NEO consensus nodes were successfully updated to the latest version of the neo-cli node software, v2.10.2. The update included several changes designed to improve the stability of the NEO blockchain and is the first version to implement the optimized dBFT 2.0 consensus mechanism. The network fee mechanism has also been changed in v2.10.2, which more clearly defines how transaction priority and fees are calculated.
NEO founder, Da Hongfei, participated in an interview on “The Business of Blockchain with Jane King” to discuss the history of NEO and the next steps.
Head of NGD Seattle, John deVadoss, spoke with Nicholas Merten on episode 20 of his Dashcat series. The pair covered various topics, including NEO3, NeoFS, and developer adoption. A large portion of the interview was spent discussing deVadoss’ past experience with Microsoft and NEO’s positioning as a platform.
NNT Catch Up
O3 Labs announced an update to its desktop and mobile wallets. Several new features are included in the update, including a “decentralized inbox,” easier management of a watch address group, a referral campaign for the O3 credit card gateway, and multiple bug fixes.
Trinity released two bi-weekly reports for May 2019. In the first report, Trinity reported on the implementation of the NEP-5 based channel establishment process, which allows state channels to be opened with a deposit, and offers support for real-time monitoring and channel status updates. In the second half of the month, the team predominantly focused on the implementation of its Revocable Sequence Maturity contract (RSMC), which aims to allow for two-way payments and guaranteed honesty for parties that wish to close the channel.
BLOCKLORDS launched its open beta on the NEO TestNet. In the announcement, BLOCKLORDS provided instructions on how to use the O3 Wallet to access the game. The team noted that BLOCKLORDS will be launched on the NEO MainNet following thorough testing.
Ecosystem
June 3rd, Moonlight released the first in an upcoming series of fortnightly reports. The reports, requested by the Moonlight community, aim to serve as a channel for “tracking & analyzing progress and the overall health of the project.” Pertaining to platform development, Moonlight highlighted Quality Assurance testing as the primary topic for its current development meetings. The team also reported the implementation of a new internal research and planning process to help discover new features that may be valuable to its product in the future.
June 3rd, Nash Exchange announced it was invited to speak at the Romania Blockchain Summit on June 21st and 22nd. Fabio Canesin, Nash’s co-founder, will represent the company as a speaker at the event.
June 3rd, Red Pulse launched a supply verification page, which allows token holders to check on the “distribution and supply calculation of newly minted PHB tokens.” The supply verification page includes PHX and PHB token statistics, such as the total supply, and frozen and circulating number of tokens.
June 3rd, Aphelion announced it has “been forced to halt development” citing low exchange volume and “a lack of funds.” Aphelion CEO, Ian Holtz, claims the project has budgeted to keep the exchange open and pay the server fees.
June 4th, Alchemint released its May monthly report, which included updated issuance and collateralization statistics, development updates, and participation in events and community initiatives. In May, Alchemint’s stablecoin issuance platform saw an increase in total SNEO collateralized, total SDUSD issued, and the overall mortgage rate. The team also reported progress on its issuance platforms for the Ethereum and Rootstock blockchains.
June 4th, Blockchain Cuties announced it will launch a NEO-compatible version of its “blockchain collectible adventure game” in the coming months. Blockchain Cuties players can collect, breed, and take pets on adventures where characters accumulate in-game items. Additionally, co-founder and CTO, Andrey Pelipenko, has been tasked with integrating a NEO-based non-fungible token (NFT) standard into the game, and has participated in NEO-based NFT standard discussions.
June 5th, KuCoin announced the delisting of Aphelion‘s APH token. KuCoin APH deposits and markets have been closed, and withdrawals will not be supported after September 8th, 2019.
June 7th, QLC Chain reported over 29 million QLC tokens were staked on the first day of the staking functionality. Token holders can stake NEP-5 QLC tokens to receive QLC Chain MainNet QGAS tokens.
June 7th, Alchemint announced public testing has begun for its Ethereum-based platform, which allows for use of ETH as collateral for SDUSD issuance.
June 7th, Guardian Circle released an update on the status of the 3.0 app launch, reasons behind its delay, the company’s financial standing after the 2018 bear market, current runway, and networking efforts.
