Neo Global Development (NGD) released its monthly report for March 2020, which highlighted Neo3 progress, the impending launch of Neo3 Preview2, and ecosystem development from core and community developers.
The Neo Foundation (NF) released its financial report for the 2019 fiscal year, which includes NF’s expenditures and current assets under management. The NF noted the progress made on key components such as NeoFS, NeoID, and the native oracle network, and highlighted a growing number of gaming and DeFi use cases in the Neo ecosystem.
Moving forward, the NF stated a commitment to maintaining the development pace achieved in 2019 and outlined key goals for 2020. These objectives include facilitating a smooth transition from Neo2 to Neo3 for ecosystem participants, the continued improvement of Neo’s developer experience, and the establishment of a governance mechanism to incentivize community participation and sustain the network.
Neo founder, Da Hongfei, is scheduled to speak at the BlockDown 2020 virtual conference taking place from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm (UTC+2) on April 16th and 17th, 2020. The two-day event proposes to capture an aggregate of 24-hours of content and offer conference-like networking opportunities.
NGD announced the establishment of a long-term partnership with the University of Zurich (UZH) “to promote blockchain technology education, research, and usage throughout Europe.” As a first step, Neo will be included in an upcoming “Deep Dive into Blockchain” course offered by the UZH Blockchain Center. Other plans for the partnership include NGD-funded scholarships for two students.

Neo St. Petersburg Competence Center (Neo SPCC) introduced a content delivery network (CDN) it has created for use with its Send.NeoFS service. The CDN is hoped to show dApps and other projects how to optimize the distribution of data from NeoFS to end-users and is part of a larger plan to provide a global, decentralized CDN using NeoFS and the Neo blockchain.
Developer Groups
NGD Seattle lead, John deVadoss, delivered an online webinar to the .NET Developers Association of Washington. The presentation offered a broader “101 level” blockchain discussion, which was complemented by a demonstration of C# tooling available for the Neo blockchain.
NEXT announced the release of NeoLine mobile wallet version 2.0, which includes a rebrand and new functionality. Additionally, a bug bounty for the updated NeoLine app ran through April 13th, 2020. The new NeoLine wallet featured a redesign that references the Neo brand, along with UI changes and a reorganization of in-app features. It also included an account system which allows users to link their NeoLine mobile app with email addresses or cell phone number for integration with future cloud-based wallet functionality.
Academic paper, Challenges for Connecting Citizens and Smart Cities: ICT, E-Governance and Blockchain, featuring work and contributions by NeoResearch, was published in an MDPI Sustainability academic journal. The article discussed information and communication technologies (ICT), governance models, and uses the Neo Blockchain for examples of digital assets and democracy.

April 6th, Jarvis+ released its fortnightly report, which highlighted minor updates to its WeChat-based app.
April 8th, Moonlight released an article about its VivID self-sovereign identity (SSI) solution that allows users to manage their identity in a secure and decentralized manner. Alongside identity, the development team has implemented numerous identity verification and authentication workflows. To get started, users need to register on the recently launched Moonlight MVP.
April 9th, the Switcheo Foundation forum went live for users to have conversations about the new non-profit dedicated to building a DeFi ecosystem.
April 9th, Morpheus Labs announced the addition of the .NET environment into its stack. By extending its platform to be able to develop and run applications in the .NET environment, the team intends to improve the accessibility of its services to enterprise applications. The integration brings with it support for the Neo Blockchain Toolkit, which can now be used as part of the Morpheus Labs CDE (collaborative development environment).
April 11th, QLC Chain added a new feature to the QWallet mobile app that provides real-time data of global COVID-19 cases.
